| Rainwater Havesting has today proved itself to be an effective technique of conserving water by guiding the rainwater that falls on rooftops, for further usage, into storage tanks or underground sumps etc. Ground water recharging, on the otherhand, is undertaken by guiding water through pipes, to wells, borewells or recharge pits to ensure recharging water in the underground aquifers, for later use, whenever the need arises. Rainwater harvesting saves water, improves soil moisture, increases groundwater levels and improves the quality of water. In addition it allows drought-proofing and prevents flooding of storm water drains. It also saves energy required to lift water. |
